Hormone Therapy Group

hormone therapy group – This is an integrated group and is designed for patients with symptoms of the following in mind (no formal diagnosis necessary):

  • Perimenopause and menopause (we have some ideas in mind for developing more for this particular client group so watch this space)
  • Polycystic Ovaries (PCOS)
  • Endometriosis
  • Premenstrual syndrome (PMS )
  • Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD)

Those suitable for the course will be finding that their physical health symptoms directly and/or indirectly have an impact on their daily life and wellbeing. It’s a transdiagnostic course.

It starts on Monday 9th September via MS Teams (12.30-2pm). Each sessions lasts for 1.5 hours and the entire course runs over 7 consecutive weeks. It will be run by two LTC practitioners, Rachel Hayward (CBT Therapist) and Hilary Brown (counsellor).

The breakdown of sessions is as follows (but is subject to slight alterations):

  • Session 1: Introduction; developing a shared understanding of the conditions and understanding the symptoms and symptom overlaps with mental wellbeing
  • Session 2: Understanding the condition in the context of a loss
  • Session 3: Valued actions and pacing; introduction to self compassion
  • Session 4: Employment advice and support from our specialist Solent Mind employment advisor (Cath Baker)
  • Session 5: Relationships; communication; identifying and developing a support network
  • Session 6: Tolerating uncertainty; developing self compassion
  • Session 7: Sleep hygiene; relapse management; summary and ending
