To be a modern, dynamic, innovative GP Practice, that delivers high quality health care with the resources available. To be a successful and sustainable business that is fit to meet the challenges of the present and future. To create an environment for both patients and staff, which promotes equality, diversity, respect and loyalty. To promote continuous improvement by lifelong learning and allowing opportunity and development of all our team. To be a supportive enjoyable place to work, even when the work is challenging.
TMGP – Our Values
Respect
We respect and value those we work for (our service users) and will treat everyone with caring consideration and listen to and value their diverse perspectives.
We respect and value those who we work with (our colleagues and staff), and the contribution that they make. We will promote sustainable working practices and be supportive of those in difficulty
In work matters, we put our shared interests ahead of individual ones. We are loyal to each other and work as a team.
Integrity
We are open, honest, and fair in our dealings with staff and patients.
We are committed to the principals of the NHS – but have a realistic approach to the future. We use public resources wisely. We challenge things we believe to be wrong and are open to challenge from others. We admit to mistakes so that lessons are learned, prioritising candour.
Service
We put our service users at the centre of what we do and take the time to understand their needs. We promote a culture of caring as we treat individuals, families and colleagues with empathy, honesty, and openness.
We strive to help our patients find the right solution for their individual problems. We value continuity of care and staff taking ownership of situations, working with patients to resolve problems together.
We aim to provide a wide range of services to patients beyond the GMS contract: Joint injections, minor surgery, women’s health, asylum seeker support, veterans initiatives, travel clinics, private medicals.
Sustainability
We believe sustainability of the practice relies deeply on financial security. By carefully growing our list size and having a diverse portfolio of income streams. TMGP partners are always interested in ways of maximising income potential and minimising waste to create a sustainable practice for the challenges of the modern NHS.
If we see opportunities for new projects, we operate a ‘yes, if’ rather than a ‘no, because’ policy.
Development and loyalty
We are buoyed by staff developing skills and promoting within the practice. This applies to both clinical and non-clinical staff and we are keen to nurture talent within the organisation.
We hope that commitment to the personal development of our staff will engender loyalty and a happy and productive place to work.
Always offering regular learning opportunities through analysing mistakes, bringing in expert speakers, providing training days and generally communicating novel developments to staff timely and clearly. Collaborating with Medical schools and Training Programmes to train medical students, training doctors, nurses, and other roles.
Collaboration
Many health problems are best solved at a bigger scale than our individual Practice. We recognise this and continue to engage with the wider local Health economy.
We collaborate proactively with colleagues in other Practices, within the PCN, the ICB, the Primary Care Alliance and others to try and improve services and outcomes for our patients, making Portsmouth a healthier City and better place to live.
We try and anticipate the challenges the future will bring and develop new and innovative ways to meet them.
